Serpentine Shiraz 2020/2021 Bottle

Deep, opaque and purple in the glass, really youthful. Aromas of dark fruits, graphite, ironstone, soy, dried herbs and charcuterie. The palate is all about vibrant black fruits in the form of mulberry, dark cherry and plums, intertwined with cola, spice, nutty, creamy oak and an earthy, ferrous edge. Long, layered, textured tannins and bright acidity shape the wine very nicely. A classy wine.

Serpentine is no wall flower in the best of vintages, but this is more substantial and concentrated, packed with big tannins, rich fruit and spice. Full bodied and built solidly, so this is not coming off its starting blocks for quite some time. Definitely one for the cellar.
