Passing Clouds

Kilmore Pinot Noir 2020

A deceptively intense Pinot Noir.

$29.00

The vineyard is situated to the southwest of the township of Kilmore, just outside of the Macedon Ranges GI. Vineyard soils are red ironstone over basalt. The 18-acre site was planted in 1988 and 1998 to predominantly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Elevation is 400- 428mm with an average rainfall of 700mm.

2020 is a vintage that will long send shudders down the spines of Winemakers. Difficulties abounded before the weather played her part, and then came a cool wet Summer, and colder-wetter Autumn. Despite all this, and to some degree because of it, the 2020 Kilmore is one of the best ever, depth and complexity added to its brightness.
